The Huron confederacy of Georgian Bay, reborn in exile as the Wyandot — keepers of the western council fire.
Not an ending, and not a colonial one: the Haudenosaunee destroyed the Wendat Confederacy in its Huronia homeland between Georgian Bay and Lake Simcoe during the Beaver Wars of 1648-50, and the survivors scattered. Two lineal nations hold recognised land today — the Wyandotte Nation in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, and the Huron-Wendat Nation at Wendake, Quebec — but neither stands on the Huronia ground this record draws.
The atlas holds 2 border frames for Wendat / Wyandot — the shape you scrub through changes in 1300 · 1867.
