Ruled the Gangavadi region of southern Karnataka (Mysore, Hassan, Mandya, Kolar, Bangalore) from Kolar and later Talakadu, remembered for Jain monuments including Shravanabelagola's Gomateshvara statue.

Reduced to a subordinate power under Rashtrakuta and Chola overlordship from the 10th century; effectively ended when the Cholas conquered Gangavadi around 1000-1004 CE.
