People of the lower Guadalquivir valley (ancient Baetica) in southwestern Iberia, considered by ancient authors the most cultured of the Iberian peoples and the presumed heirs of the earlier, semi-legendary Tartessos.

Absorbed into Roman Hispania Ulterior/Baetica following the Roman conquest of southern Spain, completed under Augustus by 19 BCE.
