Tŝilhqot'in Nation

'People of the river' on the windswept Chilcotin plateau, who fought a war to keep a road out of their land.

After the Chilcotin War (1864) and the unjust hanging of their chiefs (exonerated 2018), the Tŝilhqot'in won Canada's first declaration of Aboriginal title in court (2014).
