A Late Woodland-period archaeological culture (c. AD 400-700) of Louisiana and Arkansas in the Lower Mississippi Valley, evolved from the Marksville Hopewellian tradition. Where the contemporary Baytown culture built dispersed settlements, Troyville peoples continued to build major earthwork mound centers, such as the type-site Troyville mounds in Catahoula Parish, Louisiana.
Succeeded by the Coles Creek culture around AD 700.
