Toungoo Empire

The Burmese imperial dynasty that reunified Burma and briefly conquered the Ayutthaya kingdom, building the largest empire in the history of Southeast Asia at its 16th-century peak.

Destroyed when the Restored Hanthawaddy Kingdom captured the Toungoo capital Inwa (Ava) on 23 March 1752, ending the 266-year-old dynasty; the Konbaung dynasty subsequently reunified Burma under Alaungpaya from 1752.
