Tonk State (Nawabs of Tonk)

The only Muslim-ruled state of Rajputana, created for Amir Khan, a Buner Pathan freebooter who commanded Jaswant Rao Holkar's armies and led the Pindari-era plunder of Rajputana and Malwa; the treaty of November 1817 guaranteed him his districts in return for disbanding his army.

Acceded to India on 15 August 1947 and merged into Rajasthan on 25 March 1948.
