Early Formative village and burial culture of the Valley of Mexico with complex social stratification, long-distance trade, and strong Olmec influence.

Declined and ceased as a distinct polity around 800 BCE at the end of the Manantial phase, as population fell and regional dominance passed to Cuicuilco, which became the major Basin of Mexico center by ca. 700 BCE.
