Tepe Sialk

6000 BC – 3000 BC
CultureAsia

Long-occupied tell near Kashan on the Iranian Plateau, spanning the Chalcolithic sequence from early painted pottery through the region's earliest ziggurat.

Occupation continues into the Bronze Age (Sialk IV) with links to Mesopotamian Uruk/Jemdet Nasr material culture; a much later, unrelated Iron Age necropolis was also found at the site but is a separate, disconnected occupation phase (not included in this record's span).
