Tenerian Culture

4600 BC – 2500 BC
CultureAfrica

Middle Holocene Green Sahara culture of cattle-herding, fishing, and hunting peoples who recolonized the Ténéré Desert (notably at Gobero) after the earlier Kiffian population's habitat dried up.

Went into decline as the African Humid Period ended and the Sahara desiccated from the mid-3rd millennium BC, ultimately forcing depopulation of the central Sahara.
