Talysh Khanate

A Talysh-ruled khanate on the south-western Caspian coast around Lankaran, established out of Afsharid Persia after 1747; partitioned between Russia and Iran during the Russo-Persian wars and absorbed by Russia in the 1820s.

Dissolved and absorbed by the Russian Empire as a result of the Persian defeat in the Russo-Persian War of 1826–1828 (Lankaran taken 1812–13, cession confirmed by Gulistan 1813 and finalized after Turkmenchay 1828).
