Baloch (Shia) dynasty of amirs who ruled Sindh after overthrowing the Kalhoras, governing the Indus valley as a confederacy of family branches seated at Hyderabad, Khairpur and Mirpur Khas.
Conquered by the British under Sir Charles Napier, decisively defeated at the Battle of Miani (17 February 1843); Sindh was annexed to British India.
