One of the seven major Warring States, formed in 403 BC from the tripartite partition of Jin (with Han and Zhao); its territory spanned parts of modern Henan, Hebei, Shanxi, and Shandong, with its capital later moved to Daliang (Kaifeng).
Conquered by Qin in 225 BC after a prolonged siege and flooding of its capital Daliang.
