403 BC – 230 BC
Sovereign stateAsia

Central Chinese state (modern Shanxi/Henan, south and east of Luoyang) formed in 403 BC from the partition of Jin alongside Wei and Zhao; ruled by an aristocratic house descended from the Ji clan. Scholars often render it 'Hann' to distinguish it clearly from the later Han dynasty.

The first of the six rival states to fall to Qin, conquered in 230 BC.
