Songze Culture

A Neolithic culture of the Lake Tai (Taihu) region near Shanghai, marking the transitional phase between the Majiabang and Liangzhu cultures in the lower-Yangtze cultural sequence.

Succeeded by the Liangzhu culture as lower-Yangtze jade-working society intensified.
