Powerful Celtic (with mixed Illyrian/Thracian influence) tribal state centered at the confluence of the Danube, Sava, and Morava, formed by Gauls after the 279 BCE invasion of the Balkans, that raided as far as Delphi and Macedonia.

Weakened by Roman campaigns from the 2nd century BCE onward; fully subjugated when the Romans established the province of Moesia (completed by 15 BCE / into Augustus's reign).
