San peoples

5000 BC – 1885
CultureAfrica

Hunter-gatherer peoples of the Kalahari and southern African interior (San/Bushmen, including the !Kung, Ju/'hoansi and related groups), among the oldest continuously-documented lineages in southern Africa, progressively displaced into marginal arid lands by Bantu-speaking farmers and later European colonization.

Not an ending: San communities endure across Botswana, Namibia and South Africa (incl. recognized lands such as Nyae Nyae). The map hands off to the modern states.
