A Chalcolithic culture of the south-western Romanian Oltenia region and adjacent NW Bulgaria and NE Serbia (c. 4500–3800 BC), the Romanian member of the Bubanj–Sălcuța–Krivodol complex that followed the Vinča and Gumelnița worlds along the middle Danube.
The Sălcuța culture gave way to the Coțofeni and other transitional traditions of the late Copper Age–Early Bronze Age in the northern Balkans.
