Rzucewo culture (Bay Coast / Chełmno group)

2900 BC – 2300 BC
CultureEurope

A local Late Neolithic archaeological culture (also called Rutzau or Bay Coast culture, German Haffküstenkultur) centered on the coast of the Bay of Gdańsk and Vistula Lagoon, extending north to the Curonian Lagoon and the Šventoji settlement in Lithuania. A hybrid of Corded Ware with the pre-Indo-European Narva and Globular Amphora cultures, specializing in marine-resource exploitation; newer research suggests it formed just before Corded Ware and then ran in parallel with it.

Persisted alongside Corded Ware on the Baltic coast before being absorbed into later Baltic Bronze Age groups.
