The kingdom of Siam founded by the Chakri dynasty after Ayutthaya's fall; it modernized and maintained independence through the colonial era, becoming a constitutional monarchy in 1932.

Ended by the bloodless Siamese Revolution of 24 June 1932, when the Khana Ratsadon seized power and forced King Prajadhipok to grant a constitution, transforming the absolute monarchy into the constitutional Kingdom of Thailand.
