Qu'aiti Sultanate (Hadhramaut)

Qu'aiti-dynasty sultanate that rose in the mid-19th century to control coastal and central Hadhramaut in southeastern Yemen, the larger of the two Hadhrami sultanates; funded partly by Qu'aiti wealth from service in the Nizam of Hyderabad's army in India.

Signed a protectorate treaty with Britain in 1888 (Aden Protectorate), later part of the Protectorate of South Arabia; overrun by the National Liberation Front and integrated into independent South Yemen in November 1967.
