Early Bronze Age culture of the upper Yellow River in Gansu (centered near Lanzhou) and eastern Qinghai, China, regarded as one of the earliest bronze-using cultures in China. Named for the Qijiaping type site; succeeded the already-in Majiayao culture across Eastern, Middle, and Western Gansu / Eastern Qinghai.
Gradually gave way to successor Bronze Age cultures of Gansu/Qinghai through the mid-2nd millennium BC; an archaeological horizon rather than a state, with no single political successor.
