An autonomous, then fully sovereign, Serbian state under the Obrenović/Karađorđević dynasties, born of the Second Serbian Uprising (1815) and vassal to the Ottoman Sultan until full de jure independence was recognized at the Congress of Berlin in 1878. Proclaimed a kingdom in 1882.
