The Muzaka family's principality over Myzeqe and Berat from 1279, its head honoured as sebastokrator by Byzantium; submitted to Stefan Dusan in 1343, won its independence back under Andrea II by 1350, and at its 1372 peak ran from the Adriatic to Korce between the Devoll and Vjosa rivers.
Dissolved after Teodor III Muzaka's death and the Ottoman attack on Berat in 1450; the family held a reduced role in the city under League of Lezhe protection until the final Ottoman siege of 1455, then scattered — some to Naples, some into Ottoman service.
