An early-to-middle Bronze Age archaeological culture on the Volga-Ural steppe and forest-steppe, an eastern outgrowth of the Yamnaya culture neighboring the Catacomb culture to the west. Considered ancestral to later cultures identified as Indo-Iranian.
Influenced the later emergence of the Potapovka, Abashevo, Sintashta, and Srubnaya cultures.
Covers Poltavka's place in the steppe sequence leading to Sintashta/Andronovo.
