Buffalo-hunting horsemen of the parkland who, with the Assiniboine and Saulteaux, dominated the northern plains as the Iron Confederacy.

Treaty 6 (1876) and Treaty 4 settled them on reserves across Saskatchewan and Alberta as the buffalo vanished; they endure as dozens of thriving First Nations today.
