Small permanent fishing and shellfish-gathering village on Peru's central desert coast (Chilca District), one of the best-preserved Andean Preceramic settlements, with extensive burials and evidence of a maritime-foraging economy supplemented by seasonal lomas-fog-meadow plant use.
Abandoned around 2500 BC as local lomas vegetation degraded under environmental/climatic change; inhabitants are thought to have relocated toward the nearby Chilca river valley.
Standard reference for Andean Preceramic coastal sites including Paloma, Chilca, and the broader central-coast maritime-foraging tradition.
