Pagan Kingdom

The first unified Burmese kingdom, which built thousands of temples at Bagan and spread Theravada Buddhism throughout mainland Southeast Asia.

Ended in December 1297 when the three Myinsaing brothers overthrew the last king Kyawswa, who had become a Mongol vassal, and founded the Myinsaing Kingdom in his place.
