Pacajes (Pacasa)

1100 – 1450
KingdomSouth America

An Aymara señorío along the Desaguadero river on the Bolivian altiplano, capitaled at Caquiaviri; sources describe it as less centrally organized than its neighbor Lupaca, one of several rival Aymara kingdoms contesting the plateau before Inca conquest.

Conquered by the Inca Empire (mid-15th century, by inference from the general Aymara-kingdoms chronology) and later incorporated into Spanish colonial Alto Peru; the Pacajes name survives in a modern Bolivian province.
