Ovambo people (Aawambo)

1300 – 1884
CultureAfrica

Bantu-speaking agro-pastoralist people of northern Namibia/southern Angola, organized into a cluster of distinct kingdoms (Ondonga, Uukwambi, Oukwanyama, Uukwaluudhi and others) that remained largely outside Swahili-Arab and European trade networks and were left administratively undisturbed by Germany's 1884 Namibian colony.

Not an ending: the Ovambo remain Namibia’s largest people. The map hands off to the states covering their lands.
