A pan-tribal alliance of Great Lakes nations -- Miami, Shawnee, Lenape, Wyandot, Ojibwe, Odawa, Potawatomi and others -- formed to resist US expansion into the Northwest Territory after the 1783 Treaty of Paris.

Won major victories including St. Clair's Defeat on the Wabash (1791) but was broken at the Battle of Fallen Timbers in 1794; the Treaty of Greenville (1795) ceded most of Ohio and fractured the alliance.
