Overthrown by the Tay Son rebellion: the ruling lord Nguyen Phuc Thuan was captured and executed in 1777, ending settled Nguyen-lord rule (a surviving claimant, Nguyen Anh, waged a long restoration war that eventually founded the separate Nguyen dynasty in 1802).
