• 1624 New Netherland founded The Dutch plant Fort Orange and, soon after, New Amsterdam.
• 1655 Dutch conquer New Sweden Stuyvesant takes Fort Christina; the Delaware passes to New Netherland.
• 1664 England takes New Netherland New Amsterdam surrenders; New York, New Jersey and Delaware are created. The Mohawk destroy Pocumtuck the same year.
