Neutral Confederacy (Attawandaron)

The most populous Iroquoian nation of the lower lakes, the Neutrals held the Niagara Peninsula and Grand River and kept an uneasy peace between Huron and Iroquois — hence their French name.

Disease and famine cut them from ~40,000 to ~12,000, then the Iroquois overran their towns in 1651; the last independent reference dates to 1653, after which survivors were absorbed by the Seneca.
