Kingdom of Nagpur (Bhonsle)

Maratha kingdom of the Bhonsle (Bhonsla) dynasty in the eastern Deccan, founded by Raghoji I Bhonsle, controlling Vidarbha/Berar, Gondwana and (until 1803) Orissa.

Became a British-protected princely state after the Third Anglo-Maratha War (1818) and was annexed to British India in 1853 under the Doctrine of Lapse, becoming Nagpur Province.
