A Sunni Persian dynasty that rose from local governorship in Yazd and Kerman to rule Fars and much of central/southwestern Iran as the Ilkhanate collapsed, known for patronizing poets including Hafez at the Shiraz court.
Conquered by Timur in 1393, who had most of the Muzaffarid princes executed to eliminate the dynasty as a rival claimant.
Broad standard reference covering the post-Ilkhanid successor dynasties of Iran including the Muzaffarids of Fars/Yazd/Kerman; no dedicated English-language monograph on the Iranian Muzaffarids alone was found verified in Open Library (searches for 'Muzaffarid' returned zero hits).
