A Bronze Age archaeological culture of eastern Romania and Moldova, derived from the preceding Glina-Schneckenberg culture and contemporary with the related Tei culture. Divided by archaeologists into several sub-phases (IC4 through IIA), it takes its name from the Sărata-Monteoru site.
Succeeded by the Noua-Sabatinovka culture (see Noua culture, this file) by the 16th century BC.
