Mondsee group

3800 BC – 2800 BC
CultureEurope

A Neolithic Austrian pile-dwelling culture of the Salzkammergut and Carinthia lake districts, notable for producing "Mondsee copper" (arsenical bronze) — apparently the first metallurgy in Central Europe to emulate the Balkan Vinča culture.

Superseded in the eastern Alpine foreland by later Chalcolithic/early Bronze Age lake-dwelling cultures.
