The German military occupation authority (Militärverwaltung in Frankreich, headquartered at the Hôtel Majestic in Paris) that governed the zone occupée — northern France and the whole Atlantic coast — from the 1940 armistice, extending over the former zone libre after November 1942.

Effectively dissolved in the liberation of France, August-September 1944; Paris freed 25 August 1944 and authority passed to the GPRF (france_free_france_provisional).
