Not an ending: cumulative treaty cessions of the Kekionga and Wabash country culminated in the forced removal of most of the Miami to Indian Territory in 1846. The Miami Tribe of Oklahoma holds a confirmed reservation in Ottawa County; the Miami Nation of Indiana remains on the original ground but has never been federally recognised.
