Kingdom of Mewar (Udaipur)

Sisodia Rajput kingdom of the Mewar region of south-eastern Rajputana, re-established by Rana Hammir at Chittor and later ruled from Udaipur; famed for its long resistance to Mughal suzerainty under rulers such as Maharana Pratap.

Entered British protection in 1818 and acceded to the Dominion of India in 1949 (merged into Rajasthan).
