Lohara dynasty

1003 – 1170
DynastyAsia

A dynasty that ruled Kashmir and the surrounding hill country from 1003, succeeding the Utpala dynasty; its formidable early ruler, the former Lohara princess and Kashmiri queen regnant Didda, and the dynasty's subsequent kings are chronicled in Kalhana's 12th-century Rajatarangini.

Weakened in its later generations by succession conflicts and factional intrigue; Wikipedia's narrative places the dynasty's end around 1175, though Wikidata's structured date (dissolved 1320) suggests some sources extend a much-diminished continuation further, ahead of the rise of the Shah Mir Sultanate in Kashmir in 1339. Flagged for human reconciliation.
