CultureEurope

Central Europe's first farming culture, spreading rapidly along the Rhine, Elbe and Danube with its distinctive incised 'linear' pottery decoration.

Fragmented after c. 4500 BC into regional successor groups (Rössen culture, Stroke-ornamented ware/Stichbandkeramik, Lengyel culture) as the uniform LBK material culture broke down.
