Licchavis of Nepal

An early-medieval monarchy in Nepal's Kathmandu Valley, founded by a branch of the ancient Licchavis of Vaishali who migrated north; presided over what tradition calls Nepal's 'Golden Period', with Amshuverma a notable 7th-century ruler.

Declined through the 8th century and was succeeded by the Thakuri dynasty.
