One of Korea's Later Three Kingdoms, founded by the Silla general Kyŏn Hwŏn, who rallied Baekje-descended populations of the Jeolla region against the declining unified Silla state.
Fell to Wang Kŏn's Goryeo in 936 after internal political strife and Kyŏn Hwŏn's own defection to Goryeo.
