The Lamoka Culture was a Late Archaic hunting-and-gathering people of western New York State, defined by the Lamoka site near Tyrone, Schuyler County, one of the type sites for the North American Archaic period.
Ceased around 1500 BCE as Late Archaic occupation ended at the type site in western New York, succeeded by Early Woodland cultures distinguished by pottery use and different burial practices.
