An ancient central Himalayan kingdom (also 'Kulinda') documented from around the 2nd century BCE to the 3rd century CE in the mountainous Sutlej-Yamuna valley region spanning the southern parts of modern Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and western Nepal. Known almost entirely from its own coinage — first an Indo-Greek-influenced series under king Amoghabhuti (c. late 2nd-1st century BCE), then a second series in the 2nd century CE bearing Shaivite imagery.
Allied with the Yaudheyas and Arjunayanas c. 180 CE in expelling the Kushan Empire from the eastern Punjab/Cis-Sutlej region; the kingdom itself disappears from the record around the 3rd century CE, with the region shifting toward Shaivite religious practice by the 4th century.
