KhanateAsia

Semi-autonomous Turco-Mongol khanate of the Hami oasis ruled by Chagatayid-descended khans who submitted to the Qing in 1696 as jasak (tributary) princes; the easternmost Muslim oasis polity, guarding the corridor between Xinjiang and Gansu.

Persisted as a Qing then Republic-of-China vassal until abolished by Xinjiang governor Jin Shuren in 1930 (its abolition helped trigger the Kumul Rebellion).
