Central Lao successor state of Lan Xang, became a Siamese vassal; Anouvong's 1827 rebellion against Siam led to the kingdom's destruction.

Destroyed by Siamese forces following King Anouvong's failed rebellion of 1826–1828; by 1828 Siamese armies had twice sacked and razed Vientiane, abolished the kingdom, forcibly relocated its population, and incorporated its territories into direct Siamese provincial administration.
