Kingdom of Lindsey

600 – 700
KingdomEurope

A minor Anglo-Saxon kingdom occupying the region between the Humber and the Wash (roughly the northern part of modern Lincolnshire), centered on Lincoln (Roman Lindum) and known mainly through its own regnal list and its position as a contested borderland between Northumbria and Mercia.

Never fully independent within the historical period — dominated alternately by Northumbria and Mercia — and was permanently absorbed into Mercia in the 8th century.
